| 4. Setting up Pitch Curve for CP Helicopters (Collective Pitch Helicopters) |
Step 1 : Safty Check

Always check the the parts that rotates, try to shake and pull the Main Blade Holder and the Flybar Holder, make sure they won't loosen and dissemble during the flight.
Step 2 : ALWAYS!!! Always unplug the motor wire before adjusting anything

Step 3 : Turn on transmitter and connect heli battery

It's time to adjust pitch curve for Hovering, you need to turn on the Transmitter and the Helicopter, be ware that you have unplugged the Motor first, this is important!
Step 4 : Goto Pitch Curve setting page

Make sure your are at Normal Mode, make sure pitch curve is the default linear, that is a 45 degree straight line, just like the photo. Parameters should be 0%, 50%, 100%. When you move throttle stick, you should see the Main Blade angle will become an angle at -9 degree (0% throttle), +2 degree (50% throttle) and +10 degree (100% throttle).
Step 5 : Make a Neutral Position to the Rotor Head

Move the Throttle Stick back to 50%, you need to neutral EVERY thing on the rotor head
at horizontal position except the 3cm long metal swing arm connecting the main blade holder, the short end should be little bit pointing upward. Make sure the Main Blade angle is +2 degree at 50% throttle. For push rods length of Storm 450, please refer to the photo below.

Step 6 : Setting Pitch Curve for Hovering
Normally, all Collective Pitch Helicopters (CP Helicopters) can hover at +5 degrees pitch angle. Which means, when we move the throttle stick at about 50%, the pitch angle needs to be 6 degrees, right?
So, how do we do it?
The answer is, we start from the beginning. Usually, all Helis will have "Suggested Pitch Curve for Normal Mode and 3D Mode", in this case, our helicopter is the "Storm 450", according to manual, it was suggested to follow "-2, +5, +10" pitch angle, we can understand it as "Negative 2 degrees at 0% throttle, Positive 5 degrees at 50% throttle and Positive 10 degrees at 100% throttle". We will use this suggestion.
So let's get started. Set the Pitch Gauge at negative 2 degrees and put it on one of the main blade. We need to make sure the Throttle Stick is at 0%, then we adjust the first Pitch point until the top edge on the Pitch Gauge line up with the Flybar (yes, we use our eye to check the accuracy). You will find that the first Pitch Curve point should be around 42%-44%.

Then, we set the Pitch point number 3. This is the "Hovering" point, or what we call the 50% Throttle point. We need to adjust it to +5 degrees blade pitch. Set the Pitch Gauge to +5 degrees and use the same eye to check the accuracy, you will find that the first Pitch Curve point should be around 71%-75%, just like the following Photo.

Lastly, set the highest Pitch point, according to the manual, it should be +10 degrees, so follow the same steps above. You will find that the first Pitch Curve point should be around 95%-100%.

| 5. What should I choose? Mode 1 (Right Throttle) or Mode 2(Left Throttle)? |
Let's take a look on how to play a RC Helicopter:

95% of our customers have chosen Mode 2 (Left Throttle). It is the standard for most countries in America, Europe, Africa and Australia.
5% of our customers have chosen Mode 1 (Right Throttle). They mainly come from Japan and some countries in Asia.
If you are a beginner, we recommend Mode 2 (Left Throttle).
What's the different? For some advanced 3D flgiht action, using mode 2 is easiler than mode 1. |
|
|
 |
| 6. What frequency should I choose? 2.4GHz, 72MHz, 35MHz or 36MHz? |
Each country has its own radio law.
- 2.4GHz is your best choice. It is suitable for the radio law of all countries.
- 72MHz is designed for most countries in America such as USA and Canada.
- 35MHz is suitable for most countries in Europe and Africa such as UK and South Africa.
- 36MHz is specially designed for Australia.
Please select the correct frequency according to the standard of your country. You can select ''Let us choose the correct frequency for you'' if you are not sure. |

| 7. I am new to RC Helicopter. Any advice? |
RC Helicopter is much more difficult to control than a RC car. You have to control the helicopter in 3 dimension and 4 directions (including up/down, left/right, forword/backward, rotate clockwise and anti-clockwise) at the same time. A hovering helicopter in the sky is affected by wind and many factors. If you don't know how to control it, you may crash it.
If you are completely new to this hobby, do not start from a high performance 3D helicopters. You will crash them in 5 seconds. Walkera 5#10, Lama 2 and Walkera 53#1 are the best choices for beginners. Thanks to the well designed coaxial counter-rotating blades and stabilizer, they are very stable and easy to control. They are strong and do not break easily. You can get their parts easily in low price. They are easy and cheap to repair.
If you can control your co-axial helicopter, for example, you can hover the helicopter in the air, move it up/down, forward/backward, left/right, you can consider a helicopter with tail rotor. They are better in performance. Walkera 4#3B is the best choice for you because it is relatively strong and do not break easily.
Reapir, calibration and adjustment are parts of the game. Many advanced users spend hours to calibrate their helicopters to get perfect flight. If you do not want to fix it and calibrate it yourself, do not start this hobby because you will be disappointed. The learning curve of RC helicopter is lengthy but it is really very fun when you get used to it.

| 8. Does the power adopter of the battery charger suitable for my country? |
We will send you the correct power adapter according to the standard of your country. If you have any special requirement, please let us know in the comment box in checkout session. |
|
|
 |
| 9. Can two RC helicopters in same frequency range (eg.72MHz) fly together? |
Yes, hundreds of helicopter can fly at the same time with 2.4GHz. If you are worry about this, 2.4GHz radio system is your only choice.
If you are using 35Mhz, 36Mhz or 72Mhz, you can fly them together if their channels are not the same. There are many channels in each frequency range. For example: a helicopter in 72.81MHz does not interfere with another helicopter in 72.19Mhz.
If you have ordered 2 helicopters at the same order, we will send them in different channels so that you can fly them together without interference even they are both 72MHz.
If you already have a helicopter and want to order another helicopter from us, please write down the existing frequency/channel of your helicopter in ''Comment'' box in checkout page so that we can send you the helicopter in another channel. |

| 1. Walkera Helicopter Bind Up Procedures |
1. Turn on transmitter, then make sure Throttle Stick and Throttle Trim are "BOTH" all the way down, rudder trimming is neutral, then turn it off.
2. Connect heli battery, the receiver will start flashing.
3. Turn on transmitter, it is flashing, do no touch anything or you will break the searching mode.
4. Do not touch anything (around 7-10 seconds) until transmitter stop flashing and you will see the receiver have solid light and hear servos twitched, that means binding has completed. |
|
|
 |
| 2. Walkera WK2801 Transmitter is writing "Factory Set Lost", what to do? |
Transmitter needed to be recalibrated.
In case anyone else needs the solution, here is the procedure.
- Under stick menu change idcode from random to idcode 000315 and press enter
- Then go to display menu and press the entire up/down button to enter the calibration menu
- Move the appropriate stick as prompted to set the low - center - high values for all stick (for example - Move the elevator to the bottom point till it reads ~80 or so and press enter, return the stick to center (~500) and press enter, then press the stick to the top position (~900) and press enter. - Make sure that you that you set the low value first and not the high or the calibration will fail. ) |
|
|
 |
| 3. Why my Walkera Co-Axial Top Rotor won't spin? |
Because Walkera's Gyro only calculates correctly when it's free from Floor Drag (or sometimes, your hand is holding the heli body). If it feels any force holding the heli, it will mess up the gyro calculation. The correct way to start up Walkera Co-Axial helis :
5. Add throttle to around 30%, and move rudder stick, until you heard both motor have sync. the speed, then you add more throttle to lift off.
|
|
|
 |
| 4. My Walkera Tail Brushless Motor will not start, what to do? |
| Walkera Tail Brushless motor is sensitive to Throttle Control. It it sense the throttle is at some kind of position (throttle at too low position usually), the motor will not start and just vibrates. The correct to do, is to lower throttle to zero, and then add the throttle sharply to like 20-30%, you may also move the rudder stick a bit to right, to boost the power to rudder motor, it will help it to kick start too. If it still doesn't help and you see tail rotor vibrating, you may use your finger to push start the tail rotor, this may help the electric current to pass thru the motor correctly. |
|
|
 |
| 5. Why my helicopter always tilt left? |
Leaning to left is normal for all RC Helis, this is physics. No matter it's a palm size heli or big heli, they all tilt left.
To compensate this effect, we usually lift off the heli quickly with a bit Aileron to the "Right", take the heli to 2-3 feet in the air, free from ground wind effect, then we observe which way is the heli drifting, if it's back and forth drifting, we will apply some weight ballast to the nose of tail. If the heli is drifting left or right, we will adjust the servo push rod or adjust Aileron Trimming on the transmitter to compensate the drift. |
|
|
 |
| 6. My CB180D tail rotor only spins when I turn right, is that normal? |
| This is normal. You see the tail rotor is a Fixed Pitch tail rotor, which the blades angle are fixed, so only if it spins in different speed, it will generate different amount of wind to push the heli tail, when the tail rotor does not spin, there will be no wind. And that's exactly how CB180 helicopter works. When main rotor is spinning, it generates Counter Torque, the heli body should spin the other way, this is simply physics. So the tail rotor generates wind to compensate this Counter Torque, and the heli can keep the nose direction. When you make a turn on the helicopter, tail motor will adjust the amount of wind from the tail rotor, by increasing the speed, or decreasing the speed, sometimes if you make a sharp turn, it simply shut off the tail and let the Counter Torque in charge. That's how "Tail Motor Rotor" works. |
